City Of Bones is quite Epic.

The Mortal Instruments Book One: City Of Bones By Cassandra Clare

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

If I could describe this book in one word it would be Epic. Sure that word gets used a lot lately in describing things, but for this book it is definitely Epic worthy.  My lovely friend and co creator of this site Candace introduced me to this book a few months ago. I had purchased it but never got around to reading it until just a few days or so ago. When I first started reading it, it took a couple of attempts to really get into it. And I know sometimes these types of books will throw readers away from the book, usually that happens to me. But since Candace recommended it I had to give it a shot and force myself to continue.

I’m really glad that I stuck with it because after the first couple of chapters I became enchanted by the characters. I just had to know what was going to happen to Clary Fray. And I wanted...no.. needed to know more about Jace Wayland. Especially Jace who is a bit cocky, mysterious, and seems to be unbreakable.but he also has a dark past that haunts him and has an amazing heart plus a healthy conscience to bat. I instantly fell in love with him and I totally want to date him. ( what girl hasn't wanted to date Jace after reading this book?). And lets not forget the bickering between Jace and Clary; it's just comedic and reminds me a little bit of another fictional couple called Bonnie and Damon from the vampire diaries.  Even with the cosmic twists in this story i was compelled to continue reading. It was so enticing.  And I so can’t wait to finish reading the second book in the series.

If you’re looking for an interesting, fantasy romance, and something deeper than the normal read I’d definitely recommend reading this book.
